S. The implant is placed to position the fixture head at the best
vertical relationship relative the adjacent teeth and other implants. This may require
significant countersinking or alveolectomy. The final ridge contour surrounding the
fixture heads and adjacent teeth need not be established until second stage abutment
connection.

T. The redundant ridge crest may be
resected or alternatively collapsed over the top of the implant healing cap. Final ridge
contouring can be done after establishment of osseointegration.
