C. To achieve ideal implant position, the volume of the alveolar bone must be ideal. Any deficiency in the alveolar bone volume will be manifested by a compromise in the position of the implant and contour of the gingiva.

D. Typically, the deficiency in the alveolar bone volume at the implant site is substantial. There is a corresponding deficiency of the adjacent soft tissue.
