E. Reconstruction of the deficient alveolar bone and associated soft
tissue may be approached with guided tissue regeneration. The regenerative membrane
established a protected chamber into which bone is expected to form. The periosteum is
elevated and stretched over the regenerative membrane.
E.
F. When the implant is placed, it will be
housed within a combination of regenerative tissue and the residual alveolus. In general,
the portion of the implant within the native bone, lies in the residual cortex of the
ridge crest. To become a stable structure, remodeling will be necessary to establish
normal anatomical architecture as illustrated in H.
